The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who use Interstate 17 in north Phoenix to plan for the following lane restrictions and freeway closure for pavement resurfacing:

Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to two lanes between Pinnacle Peak Road and Yorkshire Drive overnight from 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17.

Northbound I-17 between Thunderbird Road and Union Hills Drive will be CLOSED from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20.

The following ramps will also be closed:The northbound I-17 on-ramps at Northern, Dunlap and Peoria avenues and Cactus Road.

The I-17 ramps to east- and westbound Loop 101.

DETOUR FOR NORTHBOUND CLOSURE: Motorists may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using 19th and 35th avenues to connect with I-17 and east- and westbound Loop 101 beyond the closure.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway.
