Improvements to a sanitary sewer in north Glendale are expected to be complete in a couple weeks.
Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff, who represents the Cholla District where the work is taking place, announced that the city of and its contractor, Achen-Gardner Construction, began work in February for the Phase 1 improvements to a sanitary sewer main along Union Hills Drive. The sewer improvement project is being completed in four segments along Union Hills Drive between 77th Avenue and the Loop 101.
The first segment, 77th to 79th avenues, is now complete.
The goal is to be completed with the remaining segments west of 79th Avenue by Saturday, Oct. 15, however supply chain issues could cause delays.
Traffic control and sewer bypass pipe/pumps will remain in place to expedite this work and as the work progresses west, Tolmachoff noted. Travel restrictions will be removed when possible.
Traffic restrictions will be in place 24/7. Watch for detours and take alternate routes around construction.
There will be no disruption to sewer service.
