The Glendale Summer Band series makes its return this week and offers free concerts through the end of June.

The Summer Band, the longest-running community band in Arizona, begins its 56th year on Thursday at 8 p.m. and continues each week at the Murphy Park Amphitheatre at 58th and Glenn drives.

The band, comprised of around 100 volunteer musicians of different ages from all parts of the Valley, has not been able to hold in-person concerts since summer 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
