Opened in 2015, Peoria Artisan Brewery & Gastropub has been around for a while, and I must admit, had not been on my radar for a while.
We found ourselves in the area on a Wednesday and stopped in for Happy Hour, and we had an amazing time. Previous visits were pretty quiet inside, but they had a full house and quite a crowd waiting to get in as well. Part of the appeal was their $10 PAB Burger & Beer special, which is a smoking deal. They now have a much larger patio and it was a great spot to sit and have some food & cold beers.
We started with the Texaz Dip, which is queso dip with brisket added in. Most queso dips are a gelatinous mess half way through, this one was very good and they actually brought enough chips to finish the dip.
For dinner, we had the PAB burger & beer special, plus the brussel sprouts. The burger special is just $10, so you get what you pay for, which is a basic burger with no substitutions, and it very good. The brussel sprouts were amazing, and I’m not a huge sprouts fan. With enough bacon, sweet glaze & parmesan cheese anything will taste good!!
The beers were very good as well. My memory of previous visits was a beer list full of super hoppy IPA choices and not much for an amateur beer drinker like myself. This time I had the Citrus IPA which was just the right mix of sweet & hops for my unsophisticated palette. Stephanie had a raspberry flavored beer, which doesn’t appear to be on their current tap list as of today.
We had an excellent time and a lovely meal, PAB will definitely be a place we will go back to soon. Its is worth the drive from Arrowhead Ranch.
