Restaurant Review – Pad Thai Cafe

It’s always fun to see people you know do cool things. Matt Andres is one of the owners of this new restaurant and we were neighbors for a couple years. Good things take time and I know the Pad Thai Cafe was a long journey from concept to open doors. So it was very exciting to finally have a meal at their new restaurant, and as a customer, it was worth the wait.

The space itself is beautiful & fresh. There is a nice bar & lots of table seating, as well as an amazing wall mural.

We had a very good time at dinner and the food was amazing. We had a good mix of starters and entrees and it was a nice sample of their menu.

The Pad See Ew was excellent, I had it with pork and it was a very flavorful dish with not much spice. This one is definitely safe for those with a mild palette. Curry gets a bad rap as being basic and not as ‘authentic’ for a lot of foodies, but I’m a big curry fan. We had the yellow curry and it was also mild but full of flavor. This one will be a staple for us.

We also had the egg rolls & chicken satay for starters and both were quite good. We splurged and had dessert as well, the mango sticky rice & sticky rice with coconut ice cream. If you have room after dinner, be sure and reward yourself with one of the desserts.

I have to admit, I assumed the wall mural was a giant print of a photograph. Matt told us the story behind it and how it is all hand painted. When you visit, be sure and get a close up look at the details.

Since we visited during a soft opening, we had a smaller menu to order from. Taking a look at their full menu has me thinking of when we can go back and try new things.

If you are into Thai food, this is a must go place for dinner. If you’re not sure about Thai food, don’t be intimidated, there are lots of options that won’t light your mouth on fire.

Pad Thai Cafe is an excellent addition to our community, let’s be sure and do our best to support them.
