I’ve heard many good things about Mochilero Kitchen, finally got around to visiting for dinner. Now I’m kicking myself for not going sooner.

I’m a big fan of Mexican food, the flavor profile just works for my palette and I could eat it everyday.

They had a really fun food menu with lots of enticing options and I’m looking forward to going back and trying some other things. The cocktail menu was interesting as well, Stephanie had a Lime Drop and it must be very good because we saw one at almost every table this evening.

Guacamole & plantains

We started with guacamole & plantains. The guac was good, could have used some more salt, I still ate most of it, lol.

Carnitas & Al Pastor tacos
Chicken Tinga & Al Pastor Tacos

We each had a couple different tacos, the Al Pastor, Carnitas & the Chicken Tinga. They were very good sized and two was just the right amount, although I could have definitely eaten many many more! The Pastor taco was just the right mix of sweet & salty, will be a must order for future visits.

We decided we had to also try the Sonoran Hot Dog and it was a winner as well. It came on a split top bun like you would get with a lobster roll and it was excellent. First time I’ve had one with black beans on it and it was excellent.

Overall, we had a great time and an excellent experience on our date night to Mochilero. It is worth the drive and its a good addition to the food options here in our part of town.
