Its that time again, time for bulk trash pick up here in Arrowhead.

You may place items by the curb beginning September 2nd and pick up is from 6th through the 10th.

Here is a breakdown of what you need to know.

Bulk Trash Rules:

As a Glendale resident, you receive once a month Bulk Trash pick-up service. Please follow the established Bulk Trash placement schedule as this will assist in keeping the operational costs down and the collection service timely.

If a bulk trash pile is placed out before and/or is out after your scheduled week of service, is placed incorrectly, blocked, or causes crews to collect material other than by the normal method, you will be charged a fine of $99, which will be added to your monthly utility bill.

Do you have items that need to be picked up but you can’t wait until your next schedule collection week? You can take your items to the landfill for disposal with your city utility water bill and driver’s license to show you are a Glendale resident, you get up to a ton free once a month. Bulk Trash Placement:

• Place all bulk trash within four (4) feet of the sidewalk edge toward your home.

• Stack items as neatly as possible, parallel to the street adjacent to your property line.

• Separate piles by category (appliances, tree limbs and green waste).

• No object placed out for collection shall exceed four (4) feet in length, except bulk trash (for example, a couch).

• Cut tree limbs into four (4) foot segments and stack parallel to street.

• Tree limbs and other objects must be less than twelve (12) inches in diameter.

• Wood panels and wood fencing must be no larger than four (4) square feet.

• Keep glass separate from other items, in small, sturdy cardboard boxes. Boxes should be 2ft. x 2ft. x 2ft. or smaller, taped shut and clearly labeled “glass”.

• Place yard clippings (grass, leaves, palm tree skins, bark, pine needles) in plastic bags. Bags must be securely tied.

• Place acceptable cacti in small, sturdy cardboard boxes. Boxes should be 2ft. x 2ft. x 2ft. or smaller. Saguaro sections shall not exceed three (3) feet in length.

• Do not place bulk trash on or within two (2) feet of city-owned containers or bins, water meters, cable boxes, fire hydrants, block walls or other fixed objects.

• Do not put out soil, rock, gravel, concrete, shingles, bricks, blocks, dry wall, tile, fiberglass, wet or dry mortar, sod or other unacceptable items.

• Do not place whole tree trunks or stumps out for collection.

• Do not put out oil, paint, car batteries, pool chemicals or any hazardous materials. (See Household Hazardous Waste on page 3).

• Do not place tires out for bulk trash or residential collection. Tires should be taken to the Glendale Municipal Landfill.

• Do not put garbage that can fit into your regular container out for bulk trash collection.

• Do not place bulk trash in the street or on the sidewalk.

• Do not place bulk trash against block walls on narrow easements.

• Do not pile bulk trash more than six (6) feet high.

• Do not park vehicles within ten (10) feet of bulk trash piles.

• Do not put bulk trash in containers you wish to keep. Containers must be clearly marked for bulk trash and will not be returned.

• Do not block bulk trash piles with residential collection containers on garbage and recycling collection day.

• Do not put out Styrofoam® including packing materials and foam peanuts. Bulk trash service will not be provided if a possible health or safety risk or chance of equipment or property damage exists. • Do not place bulk trash on or within two (2) feet of city-owned containers or bins, water meters, cable boxes, fire hydrants, block walls or other fixed objects.

• Be aware of unfamiliar people who may be canvassing your neighborhood and collecting items from the bulk trash. Report any suspicious activity to the Glendale Police Department (non-emergency number) at 623-930-3000.

• For refrigerator disposal there will be a $15 fee added to your water bill per refrigerator placed out due to Freon. Call 623-930-2660 to schedule for a special crew to pick up.

• Sanitation crews are responsible for removal of large debris.  The equipment used often leaves behind small debris that is your responsibility to clean up.
